The Mercury was considered to be one of the flashiest and futuristic cars of the 50s, built by Mercury (a division of the Ford Motor Company). Like the Cadillac, it captured the jet age spirit of the American 50s. With a massive chrome grille and sculptured tail fins, it was a pace car for the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway of that year, making it a truly collectible model.
